Read MoreSt. Martha’s Ministry (formerly St. Mary’s Soup Kitchen) went above and beyond at Christmas this year in Key West. It served a special holiday dinner and gave socks to KOTS’ 121 clients. KOTS, Keys Overnight Temporary Shelter, is the only temporary homeless shelter in the Keys.

Read MoreCornerstone Resource Alliance (CRA), the nonprofit organization that recently received a three-year Keys Overnight Temporary Shelter (KOTS) management contract, has launched “Jump Start,” a new bike rehabilitation program designed to provide a means of transportation for homeless people.

We were able to provide 375 hot meals and 80 bags of groceries; which this week we were fortunate enough to be able to provide fresh vegetables, fruit and FRESH eggs. I’m adding to the Saturday meal, Lynn Obringer cook baked chicken on Thursday for 100 that we provided to Cornerstone Alliance also known as KOTS. Thank you to everyone who comes together every week to make this all possible.

The Marion Stevens Fund at CFFK has awarded a grant to Cornerstone Resource Alliance Inc. to support the operation of KW’s homeless shelter and case management services. It’s the first grant to the new nonprofit, which received the city’s contract to manage the shelter. Grant funds will be used to purchase computers, data collection equipment, and other electronic equipment needed to provide and record client services.
